New Service Questions

What is the normal interval for new service?
The normal interval is 3-5 business days.

Do I have to pay any money up front to get service started?
Yes, a deposit of 50.00 and ½ of the installation is required up front.

Can I get my telephone number today?
No, the telephone number is assigned once the payment is received and the order has been processed.

I already have a phone on with another company can I switch it to Navigator and keep my same number?
With a completed Letter of Authorization and a favorable credit check, we can convert your service to Navigator and you can keep your same number.

Is it extra to have my telephone number non published?
It is extra to have a telephone number non-published. The price varies by state.

Do you offer calling cards?
Yes we do offer calling cards at 24 cents a minute. If you use a payphone there is a 30 cents payphone surcharge. Click here for more info.

Do you offer long distance?
Yes we offer long distance at 8.9 cents a minute for in state and state-to-state 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with no monthly fees.

Will I get a separate long distance bill?
If you choose Navigator long distance, your long distance will appear on your monthly bill.

Can I get my service installed on Saturday or Sunday?
No the normal days for installation is Monday through Friday.

Billing Questions

Why does my shutoff notice show a different balance than the amount your customer service representative is quoting?
A payment may have been received since the shutoff notice was sent.

Can I make arrangements to pay my deposit by paying a little on it each month until it is paid?
No, if requested, deposits may be split between the first two payments.

I have already made payment arrangements. Can I make another arrangement if I still don’t have my payment by the new due date?
No, once arrangements are made, they are specific to the dates and the amount that are to be paid. If the arrangements are not kept, we can not make new ones until the balance is paid. Once the current arrangements are satisfied you will be allowed to make new ones.

Can I change my billing cycle to accommodate my pay periods?
Preferably NOT, but it can be done ONLY if you have only had one (1) billing cycle.

Why am I being charged for taxes in a county that I am not in?
Taxes are based on the area where the central office that routes your call is located.

Can I have my service restored if I send a payment in the mail today?
No, if your service is suspended for non-payment, the full past due amount must be paid and in the office before services can be restored.

Can you bill my restoral fee if I pay my past due amount?
Yes, we prefer to bill the fee.


 

Automatic Bank Draft

What is the Automatic Draft Program?
A program that allows you to automatically pay your monthly telephone bill through a checking or savings account.

Is there a cost for utilizing the Automatic Draft Payment Program?
This service is free of charge.

Why should I participate?
Because it’s free, easy, dependable, and the least expensive way to pay your monthly telephone bill. It saves time and money.

 

How will it save me time and money?

No more checks. No more money spent on postage and bill paying supplies. And no more worries about your payment getting lost or your not being able to pay your bill while you’re out of town on business or vacation.

 

Will I still receive a monthly billing statement and know exactly how much the bank will transfer?

Absolutely! For personal records, you still will receive a monthly statement with a detailed breakdown of charges for your local telephone and long distance services.

 

How long will it take to sign up my account for the Automatic Draft Payment Program?

It takes approximately a complete billing cycle (four weeks) to process your request.

 

What if there is a problem with my bill?

When will the bank draft my account each month?

On the due date indicated on your monthly billing statement.


Repair Questions

How long will it take to get my service restored on repair?
Out of service reported before 12:00 Noon, generally is restored the same day, reports after 12:00 are repaired the next business day.

How long will it take to get dial tone restored when line is suspended?
Service restoral takes 24 to 48 hours, in most cases it will be on by 5:00 PM next day.

How do I get my long distance changed?
To change long distance provider requires an order to be placed with the long distance provider of your choice.

How long does it take to make changes on features to account?
It takes 2 to 3 days to have features added or removed from your account.

How can I check my equipment for trouble?
Disconnect all of your telephones, fax and computer equipment from your line, install corded telephone first and connect the other devices back one at a time, if trouble comes back on the line when you connect one of the devices, that is the device that has the trouble.

Why does my telephone line stop working after an electrical storm?
Storms usually cause problems with computer modems and cordless telephones, these devices sometimes have to be reset.

What should I do if some jacks in my apartment does not work, but at least one works?
You should contact your apartment manager to see what their policy is on repairing wiring and jacks.

Does Wire Maintenance cover any wiring problem?
Wire Maintenance is designed to cover wiring problems that arise from normal wear and tear on wire and jacks that are working, it does not cover pre-existing problems on wire and jacks that have never worked.

How can I get my second line to work if I only have one jack?
You can purchase a line splitter, that will allow you to connect line one and line two from the same jack.

Do I have to be at home to have my telephone line repaired?
If there is a problem with your wiring or your jacks, it will require someone to be at home or Apartment Office given permission to provide access.
